API/HSE Fire & Explosion Integrity Assessments

I.D.E.A.S undertake projects to the Offshore Technology report, OTO-2000-051 “Review of the Response of Pressurised Process Vessels and Equipment to Fire Attack”.

Engulfed jet fires & Pool fires are assessed including the OTI 92 610 Thermal Response of Vessels and Pipework exposed to Fire.

This is done to determine if piping or vessels will fail if exposed to an impinging jet fire whilst the system is blowing down. The fire scenarios consider Heat Transfer calculations to determine Vessel temperatures with time during the postulated fire events.

The Temperatures derived are then assessed with time along with the corresponding Pressure and Material properties at each point in time in a detailed Structural Finite Element Analysis of the Vessel or Piping.

These scenarios do not lend themselves to simple code calculations and are highly non-liner, complex and multi-disciplinary which suits I.D.E.A.S experience and technology.

Explosion, Shock, and Fire Damage scenarios can also be assessed.
